Dr. Thomas J. Stanley published a new book in 2004 titled Millionaire Women Next Door which was another fascinating read. Two interesting new measures he introduced were the RON (Return on Net Worth) and the EPI (economic productivity index). The RON shows the investment return required on your net worth to generate your current income, and the EPI shows how much net worth you have for each dollar you earn. One is just the inverse of the other, so they are two different ways of looking at the same ratio. Stanley uses this to compare millionaire business owners who are male and female and compare them to the median U.S. population (circa 2004). The lower the RON the better, and the higher the EPI the better. Enter your own numbers and see where you stand.
