I've been asking around about applying statistics and probabilistic modeling to come up with Shari'a-based solutions as I have quantitative skills based on graduate studies in Electrical Engineering.
Is there really a room for such "quant" approaches in Islamic finance or is this only suitable for usury-based and high risk (semi-gambling) markets?
