Backgrounds
Development Along Yangtze River in Jiangdu City, Jiangsu, China
Jiangdu is located in the middle part of JiangSu province, Yangtze River on its south, and close to cities of Taizhou and Yangzhou. The overall areas of Jiangdu is 1,332 sq kilometers; its population of 1.07 million and administrates 13 towns and 1 provincial level economic and technological development zone.
Jiangsu Jiangdu Economic Development Zone (JEDZ), is a provincial level development zone approved by Jiangsu provincial government in November, 1993 and in December, 2005 passed the approvals of six ministries of the state council. As for the rankings of the development speed and construction scales, JEDZ has entered into the first group among 112 provincial level development zones in China.
In accordance with the requirements of Provincial Committee and the Provincial Government, JEDZ implemented the strategy of building the development zone along the Yangtze River in June, 2003.
JEDZ firstly developed the region in the south of Ningtong Highway, covering the area of about 100 square kilometers. There are three function zones in it, including modern manufacturing base, the new city of science and technology along the Yangtze River, and scenic belt along the Yangtze River. It puts emphasis on the development of electrical, machinery, metallurgy, shipbuilding, automobile and its parts, IT industry, and modern logistics.
JEDZ has invested more than 2.5 billion yuan RMB into the infrastructure facilities during the past five years and introduced 48 projects with total actual investment amount of above $1 billion and the total contract investment of 29 billion yuan.
In 2010, in accordance with the policies of scientific development, JEDZ will continue to introduce 20 programs which investment amount of above $10 million or above $100 million and realize the task of introducing the agreement and actual foreign invested funds of $0.4 billion and $0.15 billion respectively. At the same time, we will make 10 programs start to construction, the investment amount of which is above $0.1 billion and 10 programs complete their construction and enter into production. We will put another 1 billion yuan into the infrastructure and add 10 square kilometers into the development zone.
JEDZ will build a regional logistics center which throughout capacity can reach 50 million tons per year, two modern manufacturing bases, 5 km long scenic belt along the Yangtze belt and a new city of science and technology which population is 150 thousand.
Infrastructure Facilities
We have invested RMB 2.5 billion in construction of infrastructure during the past five years, including water, electricity, gas, road, port, building .
Water
Sewage Plant
This itemed is adopt BOT partly , which is invested by GangDong JinDi technical company. Total investment is 110 million US dollars and it covers an area of 75 Mu , whose daily capacity is 50 tons.( phase I investment is 30million US dollars and in the process)
Waterworks
Hengda(Yangzhou), the sub-company of Hengda(Hongkong) have purchased and reconstructed the original water plant with 40 million RMB. We will have the new plant whose daily capacity is 50 tons and which covers an area of 40 Mu. Then we will make more investment and greater improvement to achieve the daily capacity of 150~200 million tons.
Electricity
There are two 220KV transformer stations and eight 110KV transformer stations, among which have been built, are built and to be built. 220KV DaQiao transformer stations, 110KV ZhongZha transformer station 110KV, ChengDe transformer station and 110KV SanJiang transformer station are in work. 110KV ZhongHai transformer station and 110KV ChangXing transformer station are being built.110KV ChangPing transformer station and 110KV Hailuo transformer stations are being prepared.
Gas
We have got investment of 280 billion RMB to build CNG,LNG compressed gas station and pipe network, with the capacity of 350 billion cubic meters. We will continue our facilities to meet the requirements.
Road
We have built the 42 kilometer main road, forming a network road(three cross lines road).XingGang Roads full length is 5.8 kilometers and width is 60 meter with two-way six pitch. SanJiang Roads full length is 6 kilometers and width is 51 meter with two-way six pitches. BaiSha Roads full length is 4.5 kilometers and width is 48 meter with two-way six pitches. We will build four cross road in recent years.
Port
We have two ports already: port1 and port2 and the annual handling capacity is 4 million tons and COSCO is going to build 4 berths of 35 thousand tons and in 2009, two of which will be built. There are still another 10 000 dwt terminals under designing. After the completion of all ports, the annual handling capacity of Jiangdu can reach 50 million tons
