With only four years left until the 2015 deadline to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has called on Economists, Educationists, Administrators, Manufacturers, Researchers, Non-Governmental Organizations, Religious Leaders, Community Organizations, individuals from the public and Private Sector to participate at the United Nations Millennium Development Goals summit (End Poverty 2015) in London on 10-13 May, 2011 to accelerate progress towards the MDGs. We therefore extend this invitation to you and to your colleagues to participate in the UN Millennium Development Goals International Conference & Exposition.

Coming amid mixed progress and new crises that threaten the global effort to halve extreme poverty, the summit will be a crucially important opportunity to redouble our efforts to meet the Millennium Development Goals, referring to the targets adopted at the UN Millennium Summit of 2000, aimed at slashing poverty, hunger, disease, maternal and child deaths and other ills by a 2015 deadline. Our challenge today is to agree on an action agenda to achieve the MDGs.
At this unprecedented and historic event, Participants would be exposed to plenary lectures and concurrent sessions followed by face-face discussion with outstanding speakers and multi-disciplinary researchers. The conference will be conducted on participatory bases with satellite plenary and simultaneous sessions followed by general and small group discussions. The following are the more specific objectives of the conference:
* To deliberate on the challenges and perspectives of the MDGs of the United Nations;
* To provide a forum for sharing the achievements made so far with regard to the 8 goals and 18 targets complemented by 48 technical indicators to measure progress towards the Millennium Development Goals;
* To learn lessons from the half way journey made so far from 2000 to 2010 and how the third half till 2015 can be made better to achieve the MDGs.
* To learn from research in the area of MDGs and other important contemporary areas of management;
* To make recommendations to the policy makers and other interested stakeholders so that MDGs can be achieved as per plan.
* To become active partners in sustaining MDGs in our various community.

This sponsorship covers the following:
1. Return airplane travel ticket for selected delegates from their home country to venue of event in London (United Kingdom) and back to their home country.
2. Medical insurance cover for delegates throughout the entire conference duration.
PARTICIPATION GRANT:
Participation grant would be given to participating delegates at the end of the summit as follows. Group participation $5,000 and individual participation $1,500.
PAPER PRESENTATION:
Participants who wish to make paper presentation should do so on any of the following themes
* Learning and teaching – preparing the next generation to work in development
* Technology / global networking – shortening the accountability chain
* Social inclusion and the MDGs
* Perspectives on MDG Gaps mid-term
* MDGs in regional contexts
* Gender and MDGs
* Human rights and MDGs
* MDG development effectiveness
We also welcome submissions that will further opportunities and ideas for collaboration between regions with the express aim to achieve more effective development practices and research.
