The project consist in the production of the prickly pear seed oil there are many thousand of hectares not exploited in Tunisia and the extraction of seed oil is in the beginning; this activity is new here in the country there are just four or five factory that produce this kind of oil . the period of this fruit will begin in the month of June until the month of October so nearly 5 months 150 days .
This oil is obtained by the first cold pressure of prickly pear seeds. It is exceptionally rich in Vitamin E and Sterol. These substances protect the skin against free radicals; the analyses show that this oil is also rich in essential fatty acid.
