I am a professional film producer seeking funding for an exciting and meaningful feature film thriller, Mirage, to be shot in the Kingdom of Jordan. The genre of this film (thriller) is very marketable and the screenwriter has a good track record of success. Additionally, the story and characters defy stereotypes of Arabs that have been prevalent in American films and depict a bond between the American and Jordanian main characters.
I have been interested Jordan since becoming friends with HRH Prince Talal bin Muhammad in the mid-80s during Army training in the U.S. The project has been discussed with the Royal Film Commission - Jordan and we look forward to working together. The project will greatly benefit the Jordanian film community by hiring many cast and crew members and spending up to half of the film's budget in Jordan. The story and dialogue will highlight Jordan’s business, social, and cultural strong points and the cinematography will present the beauty of the country.
My producing credits include four feature films. Red 71 had a theatrical premiere in New York, followed by limited theatrical release and digital sales representation through Cinetic Rights Management. Good Boy won three Accolade Awards, including Feature Film, Directing, and Actor, was an official selection of SANFIC 5 and other festivals, and is distributed by Celebrity Video. Trade In features Cory Haim, Ron Jeremy, and Tiffany Shepis and is distributed by Synkronized. D*I*Y was acquired by the band MxPx, who is distributing it. I also produced the short films Alma (which has won three awards, including Best Narrative Film at the University Film and Video Association Conference 2007) and Trouble At Hand (which won an Award of Merit at The Indie Fest).
The screenwriter, Ken Henderson, has had two previous successful, produced scripts. His honors include semi-finalist in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences prominent Nicholl Fellowship, finalist in Screamfest LA, second round at the Austin Film Festival Screenplay Contest, semifinalist in the Horror Screenplay Contest, and quarter-finalist in Scriptapalooza.
The budget for this project will be under $2.5 million (U.S.), enabling us to take advantage of the Screen Actors Guild low budget contract. By keeping the budget at this level, we will maximize return to the investors.
I look forward to hearing from you, if you are interested in learning more about the project.
Best wishes,
Brian McLaughlin
